How it Works:
First, I would like to chat with you on the phone to get a very clear idea of what you are looking for. If you have images or Pinterest boards, I would love to see those also!
After we have talked about a style that you like, I will provide you with a sample of work, via email. You will approve a final proof before I start. If at all possible, I would like to do these samples on the stationery that you have chosen, as to determine how the paper will take to ink, so please try and provide me with a stationery sample if possible. Using gouache ink I can match nearly any color, and can work with metallics also.
There is an additional charge for opaque or thick paper. Some paper will take ink very well, and some will not. I would recommend consulting with me before you purchase your stationery to ensure you do not buy something that is very hard to work with. I can also recommend types of paper that should be available at your local stationer.
I require a 15% materials allowance (i.e.: If you need 100 envelopes written, I will require you present me with 115 envelopes - we all make mistakes!). I will of course return all unused materials.
Names & Addresses:
Please submit a list of names and addresses exactly as you wish them to be written - please be careful about punctuation, abbreviations, capitalization, honorifics and spelling. Crane's stationery has a fairly comprehensive entry on the proper etiquette to addressing envelopes here. If you are unsure about, or have an incomplete address, leave it at the bottom of your list, and I will check back in with you. The names and addresses should be in a word document or a .pdf, in legible type.
See further information here.
To ensure a spot in my schedule, a 25% deposit is due before beginning work, with the balance due upon completion. I accept credit card payments via PayPal, Etsy or payments by check.
I typically have a very fast turnaround time. Please feel free to ask if you have a rush order, but please know that depending on my schedule, a rush fee may be incurred. For every 100 envelopes, I will need 4-5 business days, which includes drying time.
Invitations are typically sent out 8-12 weeks before the wedding.
Kill Fee + Returns
A kill fee of 50% of the job total will be charged if work has begun.
Due to the highly personalized nature of calligraphy, there are no returns or refunds given, but I will of course do everything in my power to make sure you are happy.
